Dinner with the mission president!
Hey kiddos
This week was actually pretty exciting!
Thursday we had zone conference and it was so good! There are some changes happening in the mission. 1st change being we only have to report 5 key- indicators each week, that means nothing to you if you aren't a missionary but it's cool. 2nd change is that our mission isn't allowed to use Facebook anymore just messenger. Kind of sad but oh well.
This week we've found 8 new investigators which is so good because we've been trying to increase our teaching pool.
We started teaching this family in our ward's grand kids who are non members and they are so funny!! There is 3 boys under 12 and we taught them the plan of salvation on Sunday and it was the craziest lesson I've ever had. They had heaps of questions and it was so funny.
Yesterday night we had dinner with our investigator Leola in the mission home with the mission president and his wife, and it was so great.
Me and my comp were a little stressed because we would have to teach in front of our mission president but what ended happening was our investigator had heaps of questions and President ended up talking the whole time! #blessed
It was way awesome though the spirit was so strong when President was talking!!
Also my companion is literally a master chef and made us Thai food at the mission home and it was so good.
We had to go the Asian shop to get some ingredients for the meal she was making
and sister Radudon was on cloud 9!!! She felt like she was in Thailand.
Also this is the last week of the transfer and my comp has been in this area 5 transfers so she's most likely leaving:((((((
This week I was studying Mathew in chapter 27:46
"And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
This is when Jesus was suffering on the cross. I was studying in the institute manual and Jeffrey R. Holland said something that I love.
"the Father briefly withdrew from Jesus the comfort of His Spirit, the support of His personal presence. It was required, indeed it was central to the significance of the Atonement, that this perfect Son who had never spoken ill nor done wrong nor touched an unclean thing had to know how the rest of humankind—us, all of us—would feel when we did commit such sins. For His Atonement to be infinite and eternal, He had to feel what it was like to die not only physically but spiritually, to sense what it was like to have the divine Spirit withdraw, leaving one feeling totally, abjectly, hopelessly alone."
I'm so grateful for the atonement and I'm trying to learn more about it and understand it more everyday. I know that because of the atonement and that Jesus Christ walked alone, we will never have to do that.
Have a beautiful week!!!
